COUNSELOR

 

This position will work with fourteen boys in two boys' homes and their families.  Counselors provide social services to each child assigned as they move through the therapeutic process: intake/admission; individual, group and family counseling; discharge; and aftercare.  Counselors are instrumental in crisis intervention, mediation, prevention and development and work with a child and his family to establish a healthy home environment leading to eventual reunification.  Also responsible for supporting and providing leadership to houseparents and assistant counselors.

 

Understanding of family systems theory preferred.  Must be teachable, self-motivated, and flexible.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Master's degree and Georgia license required or the ability to be licensed if not already obtained.  Experience working with children and families preferred.
