Kirby Thompson
Vice President of Community and Legislative Affairs, Equifax
Kirby currently is Vice President of Community and Legislative Affairs for Equifax, and is responsible for The Equifax Foundation, along with management of state and federal legislative affairs. Prior to joining Equifax, he was an independent consultant in the field of public affairs. He spent 13 years in the banking industry in various executive positions with NationsBank including three years as Vice President of Georgia Government Relations and six years as Vice President of Community Relations for Citizens and Southern National Bank (predecessor of NationsBank/Bank of America). Kirby served as Legislative Assistant to Senator Sam Nunn in Washington, D.C., from 1978 until 1981.
Kirby earned a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from the University of Georgia in 1976. He is a member of the Board and Executive Committee for Decatur First Bank. His civic duties currently include serving as a board member for the Georgia Council on Economic Education, Georgia 4-H Foundation and various committees for the GA Chamber of Commerce. He is a past member of the United Way Community Building Committee and serves on the boards of Eagle Ranch, the Georgia Division of the American Cancer Society, St. Martin’s Episcopal School, Leadership Georgia Foundation and the University of Georgia Alumni Association.
