Roy Jones

Roy currently serves as Managing Director of the Walton Opportunity Fund. Roy earned his undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University, magna cum laude, and was awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa. After several years in business where he led a successful start-up, Roy earned his law degree from Emory University School of Law, with distinction, was a member of the Emory Law Review, and was awarded Order of the Coif honors.
Prior to joining Walton, Roy served as a Managing Director of Freestone Partners, LLC, a private equity fund with offices in Houston, TX and Atlanta, GA. Prior to joining Freestone, Roy was Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of the McCamish Group, L.P., the family office of Mr. Hank McCamish, located in Atlanta, GA. In addition, Roy served as the President of the McCamish Foundation. Before joining McCamish, Roy practiced law for 14 years with Cushing, Morris, Armbruster and Jones, LLP, where he served as one of the managing partners.
Roy is the immediate past Vice Chairman of Whitefield Academy, where he continues to serve as a Board member and he worships at Church of the Apostles. Past volunteer participation has included serving on the Board of Leading the Way with Dr. Michael Youssef, Inc., on the vestry of the Church of the Apostles, and various other organizations. Roy enjoys hunting, exercise, and traveling. He and his wife, Carter, have two sons.
