ABOUT EAGLERANCH
Eagle Ranch is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization located in Flowery Branch, Georgia, that takes a whole family approach to restoring and renewing relationships for children and families. Eagle Ranch was founded in 1985 and has served thousands of children and their families.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Content Manager develops compelling written content and stories that bring Eagle Ranch’s mission, programs, people, and impact to life. Working within the strategy and creative direction of the Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy, this role owns day-to-day content development, editing, proofing, and storytelling across Eagle Ranch’s marketing channels.
The Content Manager is a self-starter who can take an idea, campaign, interview, or broader objective and move it toward polished, audience-focused content while proactively identifying needs and opportunities.
PRIMARYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Development & Quality
- Write and edit content for email campaigns, newsletters, websites, landing pages, print materials, events, fundraising and awareness campaigns, articles, and other marketing initiatives.
- Translate strategy, messaging direction, interviews, notes, transcripts, and subject-matter expertise into polished written content.
- Proactively identify content needs, gaps, and opportunities based on organizational priorities, campaigns, events, and audience needs.
- Maintain and update website content to ensure information remains current, accurate, useful, and engaging.
- Serve as the primary proofreader for marketing materials, reviewing for grammar, accuracy, clarity, consistency, tone, brand voice, dates, links, calls to action, and other details.
Story Development
- Maintain a pipeline of stories from alumni, current families, staff, donors, volunteers, and others connected to the Ranch.
- Plan and facilitate recurring “Story Slams” that bring departments together to share stories and potential content opportunities.
- Conduct interviews and turn conversations into compelling written content.
- Lead alumni storytelling efforts, including outreach, interviews, supporting materials, permissions, and follow-up.
Content & Story Stewardship
- Maintain accurate photography, video, interview, and storytelling permission records, including current information regarding individuals who should not be photographed or publicly featured.
- Confirm appropriate permissions before stories or visual content are published and maintain an organized library of stories, interviews, photos, transcripts, and related assets.
Collaborative Multimedia Support
- Collaborate with the team to bring stories to life through social media, photography, video, and podcast content.
- Help identify story angles, subjects, interview questions, and supporting content for multimedia projects.
- Participate in select shoots and recordings as needed and repurpose podcast and video content into emails, articles, newsletters, website content, and other written materials.

- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, interviewing, and storytelling skills with a strong portfolio of work.
- Self-starter who can recognize needs, determine next steps, and carry work through to completion.
- Comfortable working from both clearly defined assignments and broader objectives requiring independent thinking and initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and exercise discretion when working with sensitive information.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, public relations, or related field preferred.
- Five or more years of professional experience in content development, communications, journalism, marketing, or related work preferred.
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn Square space, email marketing platforms, Adobe/Canva tools, project-management platforms, podcast tools, and responsible use of AI-assisted content tools.
- Occasional availability outside standard work hours for events, interviews, shoots, and other storytelling opportunities.
